About The Hive

Want to give bee keeping a try?

Join our community bee keeping project.

Free sessions.

Suitable for ages 8+, adults welcome.

Book a group visit to the Hive where you can learn the importance of bees, where honey comes from and how to protect our environment.

Looking for an interesting stall for your event? During the spring and summer, we can bring our stall, oberservation hive and equipment to your event. Get the chance to see the bees at work in their hive, try on a bee keeping suit or try some of our raw, pure honey....

Community bee keeping sessions

Team Building / Group sessions

Looking for something different for your team or group?

Why not visit The Hive for a 2 hour group session and learn all things bee!

Get up close to our hives, learn about these amazing creatures and just how important they are! You might even be able to help harvest some honey!

Private group prices start from £250 for up to 8 people. We can tailor your sessions to you so please get in touch to find out more information.

Equipment

All equipment is included in the price, including, safety suit and gloves. Please wear sturdy boots or trainers.

Where and when

The Hive is situated between Long Eaton and Ilkeston, a few minutes from Junction 25 of the M1 in a beautiful part of our local countryside. 

Sessions run between May - August each year and can be booked 7 days a week. 

Sessions are suitable for children over the age of 8.

Sessions are NOT SUITABLE for anyone who is allergic to bees.
